Kristine Johnson

Kristine Johnson is an anchor at WCBS-TV in New York where she currently anchors the noon and 5 p.m. newscasts with Chris Wragge. She was previously an anchor of Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC and was also one of the alternating news anchors on Weekend Today. She joined MSNBC in 2005. She had earlier worked as a reporter and anchor in Providence, Rhode Island for WPRI. She was the recipient of two nominations for an Emmy award as a producer. Her education was at the University of Nebraska, where she graduated with a bachelor of arts in journalism and minors in political science, history and English.
She announced on Early Today that October 20, 2006 was her last day and that she would be moving to WCBS [1]. This was the same week that NBC Universal announced that they would cut 700 jobs.
Kristine is married, with two children: a daughter, Ava, and a son, Burke, born in March 2007. She is expected to return to the anchor desk at the end of March 2007. Fellow newswoman Kate Sullivan has temporarily taken her seat at the anchor desk.
