KSON or The Soul of San Diego is the only Gospel music radio station in all of Southern California. KSON adopted their urban Gospel format on January 15, 2007, which was coincidentally Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
[edit] History
Previously, KSON was an eclectic radio station, airing a variety of different formats, including Vietnamese talk. Prior to that format, it had been a KidStar Radio affiliate from July 24, 1996, but that radio network was short-lived and merged with Radio Disney. Before that, KSON had a country music format that simulcasted with KSON-FM 97.3. KSON shares its antenna with AM 1040 KURS.
