Kumoon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kumoon is a strategic physics based game for Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. It was developed by Mayoneez, also known as Mikko Oksalahti. The game uses the Mope physics engine developed by the same person. Many user say that the appeal is how it is a blend of a third person shooter and a puzzle game.
[edit] Gameplay
The object of the game is to make all the red blocks in a level turn into white blocks and finish the level in positive points. You are controlling a yellow chicken in third person view. The game consists of thirty-nine levels. You can turn red blocks into white blocks by either shooting them, pushing them into a wall, or knocking them down from a high level. You have 3 weapons, they are the shotgun, grenade launcher, and revolver. The shotgun fires a spray of small black bullets (the bullets appear as black balls), the revolver fires a single normal bullet, and the grenade launcher fires a shell wich explodes in a storm of normal bullets. Whenever you use a weapon you lose a certain amount of points, if you use a revolver you lose one hundred points, if you use a grenade launcher or shotgun you lose five hundred points. Fortunately, the first shot in each level is free regardless of which weapon you use, so an important strategy is to use the most powerful weapon, the grenade launcher, for you first shot. If you touch a red block you lose a great amount of points. Instead of touching red blocks you can run them into walls using white blocks to push them. Once a red block has been jostled, shot, or dropped it turns into a white block which you can use to turn more red blocks into white blocks. Whenever you turn a red block into a white block you gain ten points. For every time a bullet ricochets against a wall or block before hitting a red block you receive a multiple of ten times the points you would normally receive for turning the red block white (i.e. ten). The maximum bonus for a hit is 300. For example if you make a bullet hit the ceiling, then floor before hitting a red block you would get two hundred bonus points instead of the usual ten. Every five levels there is a bonus level. The same object applies but you don't receive penalty points. Instead of the blocks being red, they are green in bonus levels. They often incorporate certain skills or physics techniques as the next few levels will have. Your ammo is restocked at the end and beginning of a bonus level. You initially start off with two hundred revolver bullets, ten grenades, and ten shotgun shells. If you turn all the red blocks into white blocks and you are currently in negative points then you lose one of your three lives. If you lose all three lives that you originally started off with then you get a game over, note that you can go straight back to level you just lost.
If you right click repeatedly while pressing the right key, not D, you skip to the next level, pressing left brings you to the previous level. This cheat only works on Windows.
