Cross Middle School is a middle school in the Amphitheater School District located northwest of Tucson, Arizona. Cross was founded in 1974, named in honor of former Amphitheater School District superintendent Lawrence W. Cross, and serves a large student population of 890.
Cross students statistically score well above average in standardized test administrations conducted by the Arizona Department of Education. The school is also regularly recognized as "Excelling" by the State, ranking in the top 15% in Arizona.
Cross students are promoted to Canyon del Oro High School located north of the Cross campus in Oro Valley.
Cross kids come from four main elementary schools: Harelson, Donaldson, Mesa Verde, and Copper Creek.
Their rival is La Cima.
The students at Cross are called the Rams.
