[edit] Merge
I think not, quite bluntly, in reference to the merger (into ->); Lac as an isolated word must be viewed as one unknown to most whereas 'shellac' is still known; notwithstanding its infrequent use, amongst most today. Even though the evolution and purity of shellac is antecedent to lac, it would be best merged the other way; in keeping with the purposes of the encyclopaedia. Of course the hyperlink in all practical purposes may make this matter moot. Cisum.ili.dilm 23:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- The practical purpose behind a merge such as this (and mergism in general), is to get an article a step closer to becoming featured.
- But either direction would work, and the title can be changed/moved anytime anyway, so I've changed the templates to direction-agnostic. :) --Quiddity 00:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
