Lake Catcha

Lake Catcha is a gold mine in the eastern Halifax Regional Municipality Nova Scotia, Canada .
Gold was produced beginning in 1882 according to records by E Gilpin. By way of a report to the Honorable Charles E Church, Commissioner of Public Works And Mines. Report dated June 20th 1898. He reported up to that date 20,734 ton of ore was crushed resulting in recovery of 22,757 ounces of gold valued at that time at $19.00 per ton WJW. Today the Acadian Gold Corporation controls approximately 6.4 kilometres of strike length on this structure and is plannig to drill for samples in the future .
