Lake Central High School

Lake Central High School is a large high school in St. John, Indiana, USA for students in grades nine through twelve. In the 2005-06 academic year, it had an enrollment of 2,859, which puts it near the top of list of Indiana high schools in terms of enrollment. Its students come from the towns of St. John, Dyer, and Schererville. A freshmen wing was added in 1993. It is the only high school in the Lake Central School Corporation.
The school is located on U.S. Route 41. It succeeded an older school named Dyer Central High School, which was on U.S. Route 30. The Dyer Central Building became the building for Kahler Middle School which is still part of the Lake Central School Corporation. The building was demolished around the mid-1990s as part of renovations made to the school.
