Lake Champlain Chocolates
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lake Champlain Chocolates is a national producer of chocolate confections. The company handcrafts over a million pounds of chocolates each year.
The company was founded in 1983 by Jim Lampman, who sold hand-rolled chocolate truffles at his Ice House restaurant on Burlington, Vermont’s waterfront. The company currently has two facilities on Pine Street in Burlington: one houses production and administration, the other handles packaging and distribution. The 750 Pine Street factory is a popular tourist destination, offering free chocolate factory tours and samples. The company also maintains two other retail locations in Vermont -- on Church Street in Burlington and on the main road between Waterbury and Stowe.
