The Lake Elsinore Storm are a minor league baseball team in Lake Elsinore, California, USA. They are a "high-A" class team in the California League, and are a farm team of the San Diego Padres. The Storm play home games at Lake Elsinore Diamond;(Pete Leir Field) opened in 1994, the park seats 7,866 fans. Their unusual logo, with a cap featuring a pair of eyes, also Thunder and Jackpot (Mascots of the team) made the team what it is today. This team relocated three and has been traced back to the Redwood Pioneers then the Palm Springs Angels and now the Lake Elsinore Storm. The Palm Spring Angels stadium was used by the California Angels during spring training. As the Palm Springs Angels and later as the Storm, they had previously been the "high-A" affiliate of the Angels before 2002, when they and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes switched affiliations. Some former members of the Storm later became members of the Angels' 2002 World Series championship team.
