[edit] Biography
[edit] Early life
Garrison was born in Dallas, Texas on May 23, 1980 and raised in Richardson, Texas. Due to the troubled relationship with his mother, Garrison moved out at seventeen and turned to the family minister, Joe Simpson, who is also the manager and father of pop stars Jessica and Ashlee Simpson. Garrison lived with the Simpson family for a year. [1] During his teenage years, Garrison was a thief and due to Joe Simpson's influence, he changed his behavior.[2] He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in 1998 and at eighteen, he drove to Los Angeles with ambitions to become an actor. His first job was a backpack commercial that paid $3,500.
[edit] Personal life
Garrison was involved in a minor traffic accident on October 20, 2006, after leaving a Los Angeles nightclub. Lane's car was behind another vehicle at a four-way, signalized intersection when he allegedly rear-ended the vehicle in front of him. However, no damage appeared on either vehicle.[3] On December 12, 2006, TMZ.com reported that the owner of the car Garrison rear-ended at a stop light witnessed the accident as he waited for the valet to retrieve his car.[4]
Garrison was involved in a more serious car accident on December 2, 2006 at approximately 11:50 pm in Beverly Hills, California.[5] Seventeen-year-old Vahagn Setian died and two fifteen-year-old girls were injured when Garrison's SUV crashed into a tree.[6] Beverly Hills Police accident investigators reported that Garrison displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication at the scene. They further found alcohol containers from the vehicle.[7]
According to Garrison's lawyer, Harland Braun, Garrison has no recollection of the accident, and was "despondent" and "overwhelmed" when he found out the news of the boy's death.[8] Braun's recount of the night's events contrasted TMZ.com's December 6th report which Braun later refuted. Braun stated that Garrison had met the three teenagers at a supermarket before accompanying them to a house party. According to the five eyewitnesses interviewed by TMZ.com, Garrison met the three teenagers at a gas station and went with them to the house party with a bottle of Grey Goose vodka. While Braun asserted that Garrison had drank a single margarita at a Mexican restaurant prior to another one drink at the party, TMZ.com claimed that there were eyewitnesses to Garrison's alcohol consumption at the party. The witnesses also say that Garrison had agreed to drive out to buy more alcohol. He left the party accompanied by the three teenagers he had met earlier. On the other hand, Garrison's lawyer claims that Garrison had left the party because of a previous engagement with another woman at his apartment and that the three teenagers had allegedly asked to accompany him.[9][10]
Garrison's attorney also stated that Garrison's car was having "mechanical problems" lately which could have contributed to the accident.[4] Blood samples from Garrison were taken by the police after the accident and were examined for intoxicants.[11] On January 31, 2007, police released blood test results revealing that Garrison had "more than twice the legal limit" of alcohol in his system and was under the influence of cocaine during the fatal crash that killed Setian.[12] On March 8, 2007, Garrison surrendered to Beverly Hills police. He is charged with felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony driving under the influence causing injury to multiple victims and felony driving with a blood-alcohol level above the .08 percent legal limit causing injury, and a misdemeanor count of furnishing alcohol to a minor. Garrison could receive up to six years and eight months in prison if convicted. He was freed on $100,000 bail and his arraignment is scheduled for April 11.[13]

Garrison first achieved fame in 2005 through his role as Tweener on the television series, Prison Break.
