Talk:Lawrence Biondi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This artilce needs at least SOME information about the controversies Biondi has been involved in, including
- The sale of St. Louis University's hospital to a private for-profit company (which drew criticism from the Vatican) ... boy were they pissed!
- His statements on stem cell research which drew questions from Archbishop Raymond Burke
- The controvery over his August 2005 homily at the school's innaugral mass which was largely copied (without attribution) from a homily given by the president of the University of San Francisco

I agree - I've placed an NPOV notice on the Biondi page, and I hope somebody else can help me with updating it. We should deal primarily in factual information in these articles, not SLU PR B.S. --Joefrank 22:53, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- I've now edited the page to eliminate the most egregious boosterism. Maybe others can suggest more neutral commentaries on the pros and cons of the Biondi administration.

Another controversy related to Lawrence Biondi: He held the position of chair of the ethics committee on the board of Tenet Healthcare, which manages hospitals that perform abortions. He was forced to resign from the board in May 2004. His resignation came in the face of an email and phone call campaign from local Catholics. If anyone can find good sources on this issue (other than angry catholic blogs and editorials) I think this info should be added to his page. WilliamG 18:07, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
