Is there any evidence for this whatsoever anywhere, besides in articles based on this Wikipedia article? Is there some reason why dozens of celebrities are being donated partial Jewish heritage all across Wikipedia-land?

You should probably can the attack-style comments. There's no problem with requesting a citation for something, but there's never a need to take that kind of tone. Yes, there is a source. See [1]. His maternal grandfather was Sephardic, his grandmother was French. And his father was Italian. Now cited in the article. Cheers, Mad Jack 00:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Hm, you know, I found this Guardian interview, and it seems to say his mother was all Jewish... [2] I'll correct in the article Mad Jack 09:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I added the Discography section based on an album I found listed on eBay.
