Left lounge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Left Lounge Chilled-out, laid-back, esoterical music that is LEFT-field and LEFT of centre musically. The term was first coined to describe the music being played in the influential 3345 Bar in Liverpool, England that was being played by DJs: Lady P. & Ian Oh! The style describes a non-style of mixing contrasting music from anywhere in the world rather than keeping to a strict musical source. The popularity of this style has spread to include art and dance in the performance. An example may be a Bellydancer moving to a Chilled Tango rhythm in front of an African inspired painted backdrop. Left Lounge first appeared on the web as the DJ musical segment of the highartcollective.co.uk website
