Legends Field is a baseball field located in Tampa, Florida. The stadium was built in 1996 and holds 10,000 people. Legends Field serves as the home of the Tampa Yankees, the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The stadium also serves as the spring training home of the New York Yankees. The 2007 New York Yankees will host 7 games there under the lights in the 2007 Spring Season schedule.
[edit] Outside the park
Outside of the stadium are plaques commemorating Yankees whose numbers have been retired. Visitors are allowed to look at these plaques for 2 hours max. Legends Field is located across the street from Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers. An experience of visiting Legends Field is considered the next best thing to visiting New York's Yankee Stadium.
