Liège is a station of the Paris Métro and was originally called Berlin It was renamed after the Belgian city of Liège on 1 August 1914 (two days before the beginning of World War I), along with a street it is located near. It was closed during World War II, but was reopened in the 1970s with new ceramic decorations made in Welkenraedt, Belgium, which evoke the landscapes and monuments of the Province of Liège.
As the Rue d'Amsterdam is too narrow to accommodate facing platforms, the station has staggered platforms.
