Liaoyuan

Liaoyuan (Simplified Chinese: 辽源; Traditional Chinese: 遼源; pinyin: Liáoyuán) is a Chinese city in the western portion of Jilin province. Liaoyuan city lies some 120 km south-west of Changchun, the capital of Jilin province, and has an estimated population of 468,146. Liaoyuan is the seat of Liaoyuan prefecture. In Liaoyuan coal mining is an important part of the local economy.
On December 16, 2005, a fire in a hospital killed at least 39 people, 33 of whom were patients. The cause of the fire is unknown.(BBC)
