A Linux PC (personal computer) is usually a microcomputer that uses Linux distribution software as its operating system and application software.

Informational site for installing Linux on Laptops, linux-laptop.net, was started in 1995.

Howto site for Linux With Laptops, tuxmobil.org, was started in 1997.

Wal-mart started offering low cost Linux PCs June 2002.

HP sold the low cost 'people's notebook' in Thailand May 2003.

HP unveiled its first SuSE laptop August 2004.

Nicholas Negroponte announced OLPC (one laptop per child) January 2005.

Dell had a limited offer for a Mandriva notebook, only in France, September 2005.

Lenovo announced SuSE ThinkPad Laptops August 2006.

Dell has ideastorm site. Pre-installed Linux is the most requested item, February 2007.
