This article contains a list of the episodes for the anime adaptation for Kashimashi and an additional OVA. The series aired in Japan between January 11, 2006 and March 29, 2006 on TV Tokyo. The OVA was later released with the final DVD on October 27, 2006.

In the anime, the ending theme between episodes 8 and 11 is sung by the different seiyū of the four main female characters in the show. First is Ayuki, then Hazumu, followed by Yasuna and finally Tomari.
Kashima-shi (鹿縞市) is the name of the fictional city where the story takes place in Tokyo Prefecture. Note: Shi (市) means city in Japanese. Not to be confused with two other real cities in Japan both named Kashima-shi. One is in Ibaraki Prefecture (Kashima, Ibaraki - written as 鹿嶋市) and the other is in Saga Prefecture (Kashima, Saga - written as 鹿島市).
The title comes from the Japanese saying, "When three women gather, it's kashimashii (姦しい)," which means noisy or chattery.
Most of the characters' names (excluding Asuta and Ayuki) translate to meanings that go along with their personalities:
- Hazumu - From either the noun hazumi (弾み) meaning Bounce, or the verb hazumu (弾む) meaning To become lively.
- Yasuna - From either the noun yasumi (休み) meaning Rest, or the verb yasumu (休む) meaning To rest.
- Tomari - From the verb tomaru (止まる) meaning Stop.
- Namiko Tsuki - From the adjective tsukinami (月並) meaning Commonplace or Clichéd. Additionally, -ko (子) is seen very much in Japanese womens' names.
- Hitoshi Sora - His name, written in kanji as 宇宙仁 literally means Space man.
- Jan Puu - From the noun janpu (ジャンプ) meaning Jump.
Yasuna's dog's name is Fermata. The dog's name is only mentioned in the anime.
The main characters' names have some connection to religion:
- Osaragi - means Big Buddha
- Kamiizumi - means god's fountain, from Shinto
- Kurusu - from Cruz or the Cross
- Mari Ayuki - from the Virgin Mary
- Soro Asuta - from Zoroaster
The song that Yasuna is listening to on the "Green Relaxation" CD is Songwriter by Yuumao.
