It's the beginning of the summer of 1999, and at Dallas/Forth Worth Airport, American Airlines Flight 1420 to Little Rock, Arkansas, is delayed for two hours by thunderstorms. The route is a short hop, and to keep on schedule, the dispatchers set a course through a clear patch of weather, or "bowling alley." As Flight 1420 begins to descend, storms start closing in around the airport. In Racing the Storm, Mayday recreates the flight to Little Rock and analysis the decisions made by Captain Richard Buschmann and Co-Pilot Michael Origel. Did they rush and make a fatal decision?
