Series One of The Office was first broadcast in the UK between July 9 and August 20, 2001.

The second series of The Office was originally broadcast in the UK between September 30 and November 4, 2002.

After the conclusion of the second series, creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant stated that no more series would be filmed. However, they did write and film two additional 45-minute episodes, which first aired in the United Kingdom on BBC One on December 26 (Boxing Day) and December 27, 2003.
