Talk:List of Australian soccer players with dual nationality
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Michael Beauchamp
Why is he listed as having dual French-Australian nationality? I looked him up and he wasn't born in France and has never played club football there. I know 'Beauchamp' sounds French, but nowhere in his article does it mention his heritage or parents. Can someone please clarify this for me? Raph89 15:55, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Article Title
This article needs renaming as the current title is misleading and factually inaccurate. dual nationality is a specific status under international law. This has no relation to how a player can qualify to play for more than one team under FIFA rules. Nuttah68 14:31, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Criteria
This article needs to define "Australian soccer player" - presumably it means people who have played in the A-league or national teams only. Should it be either trimmed to only people who have played for Australia, or expanded to include the women's teams/league? --Scott Davis Talk 05:38, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- When I started the article, I meant it to mean only players who have played international football for Australia, or who have declared themselves willing to play for Australia over another country. GiantSnowman 13:36, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

- I'm almost happy with that definition - I'd prefer actually played for Australia rather than willing to play for Australia. The article needs reviewing to confirm that everyone on the list has played at that level, and referencing. Preferably referenced to some comprehensive website or resource to demonstrate completeness. See talk:Lists of Australians#Bad lists for a central discussion. --Scott Davis Talk 11:06, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

- By "Willing to play" I meant a player who also has second nationality e.g. Italy/Croatia or is of foreign origin, but who declared themselves to be Australian GiantSnowman 12:42, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
