Talk:List of Shuffle! episodes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Translation Notes
- Episode 4: タマゴ焼き can mean any type of fried eggs. The eggs featured in the episode were close to an omelette (like a rolled up omelette).
- Episode 8: パンツ includes many types of lower body underwear, but there's no convenient English word/phrase that matches it and doesn't sound lame. So it has been translated to "panty".
- Episode 9: The episode title doesn't actually mention a seashore, but 海水浴 has no fitting equivalent in English that I can think of.
- Episode 10: 月夜 describes a "moon-night", not moonlight. However, moonlight sounds better and conveys the intended meaning better IMO.
- Episode 11: "Princesses" here does not describe real princesses. Rather it's an affectionate way of saying "girls".
- Episode 13: This is pretty much a literal translation. However, the original title could have some figurative meaning as "斜陽" could imply decline. "斜陽" the title of a Japanese novel about the decline or aristocrats (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/斜陽).
- Episode 16: Kikyou means bellflower, but it's used as the name of a character in Shuffle!, so bellflower is in parantheses.

Nee, Shi-chan, here's how I would've done the episode titles:
2 Wanting to See You
5 The Place Where I Belong
9 Survival in the Seawater Baths
10 The Confession on a Moonlit Night
Shi-chan, do you mind that I changed a few things? ^_^ Ah, poor Lycoris. The debate over her name continues (?). Kanashii omoide tte...
