Talk:List of ayatollahs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Do we want to list ALL the ayatollahs, or just those living? You're looking at a list that's much longer than the one here.
- All the ones worthy of an encyclopedia article on them. We may need to separate them into Grand Ayatollahs and Ayatollahs later when the list grows. roozbeh 11:40, Sep 21, 2004 (UTC)
Another is we should make something like a family tree who was the teacher of who up to the time of Imams. 129.130.15.91 02:08, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
In Robert Fisk's book, "The Great War for Civilization", he talks about an Ayatollah Abul Qassim Kashani. He implies Kashani was a possible future leader of Iran, though he says Kashani's capability to command a mass movement is disputed. Not sure if this possibly-alternate-Khomeini thing warrants his presence on this list, but I thought I would raise it for other, better informed people to consider. (Mentioned in Chapter 4, The Carpet-Weavers, pg. 98 - in U.S. edition).
- He's already on the list: Ayatollah Abol-Ghasem Kashani.--Zereshk 08:05, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
There is a wiki list of Grand Ayatollahs: I think the Ayatollah list should not include Grand Ayatollahs.
Ok, I will remove the grand ones. --Gerash77 22:34, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I also demoted "Ayatollah Sam Linnett" -- after more than a month on the list!--Gerash77 22:47, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
