Talk:List of female detective characters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jessica Fletcher is a writer, not a private investigator; Jane Marple is an OAP. I don't know about most of the others, but as far as I could see, quite a number of them do not really fit into the "private detective" category because they are amateur detectives (which is something different altogether). <KF> 20:52, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest we create an article entitled "List of female characters in detective fiction" and move the article there. Alternatively, if we want the focus of the article to remain with female private detectives - we must delete some entries. I contacted the original editer for their opinion. Thoughts? - I am not particularly attached to the list. I would be happy with any cleaning up that anyone wants to do. I was using the term "private detective" loosely--probably too loosely. Logophile 14:41, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

- Perhaps this list should just be merged with the List of fictional amateur detectives? Then that page could be divided into male and female characters. Tartan 16:48, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
