Talk:List of marathon races

[edit] Organization
This list is getting a little unwieldy. I suggest we split it up somehow. I don't know which way is best. United States/International? By month? By country groups (all countries starting with a-c, d-f, etc.)? johnpseudo 15:15, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually I like that idea, split it up by months sounds better, maybe even make a box for each month with a location of where the marathon occours and who the major sponsor is like...ING New York City Marathon (for example.) --DJREJECTED 02:19, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- I like the idea of organizing by time, or if we're going geographically, by broad areas (e.g., continents, as opposed to a section for the U.S. and a section for the rest of the world). Akbeancounter 23:35, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

- I second the date proposal.Bah23 14:46, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Does anyone know how wikipedia handles the same data in multiple formats? For example, it would be nice to have:
- Alphabetically
- By country
- By date
But its important that you only need to add events in one form. If someone can point me in the right direct I'll take care of it. Bah23 13:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Alaska
I added a few marathons in Alaska. Since some have silly names (the Humpy's Marathon, the Alaska Salmon Run) and another is held in a teeny tiny island town (Prince of Wales Marathon), I figured somebody might think I'm making them up. But here's the list from whence they came: AK Marathons. All are certified tracks, and Boston qualifiers. I'm training for the Humpy's Marathon, and I might join the 10K group at the Mayor's run; when those come around, I'll write up an article, maybe take some pictures.
