Spoiler tags should be added to the article, and possibly for certain sections of some characters. Even though spoilers are expected when reading character descriptions, there are some things revealed that are crucial plot elements that may be best warned against before reading, especially those in the manga that have not yet been mentioned in the anime. Take for example Dragon. In the latest chapters of the manga we learn some very shocking information about him, but this is far beyond the scope of the anime, and I fear some unexpecting people may walk into this unknowingly and ruin the surprise. I also suggest we change his name back to just "Dragon."

If someone changes it back to gan forr, gun for, gunn forr, or gan forr again then I am not helping wikipedia anymore. Everthing I try to help add someone always takes it out or changes it. There was a discussion on this name already but apparently some isn't considerate enough to check there first. -Therealssjlink

Isn't it Gan Fall?

Gan Fall is what #kaizoku-fansubs used based on the way that they pronounce it in the anime (GaN FuaRu). Gun Fall is the correct name and is used on Official One Piece products (search for some and you will see).

Dalton has his own page. Although I think he would probably be fine just on here. I'm pretty sure Pell has one too. Anyone with me on that these two should just be moved here?

This page is too large, can anyone think of characters we can take out of this to give them their own page? For example, read the source. Both 'Ben Beckman' and the 'Billions' are in the source, but they are not showing up at all on the page. If you look at the bottom it is cut off. What is the cause of this? I thought he was first seen (in the anime) when the marine was explaining to Fullbody that Gin had escaped. Is it anime only?

I believe so, but if you can confirm this it would be a great contribution to his section since there isn't any information differentiating between manga and anime appearances.--Mardukknight 22:15, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moving the sources

I'm currently SBS sourcing stuff... But I don't intend to have them like they are right now, all separate with their characters. I'm moving them to the bottom of the page later when I'm done going though 35+ manga vols worth of SBS. Basically this is temporary measures while I sort out the info. [edit] "Minor Characters" and the Pirate Crews

I feel that the "Minor Characters" and the Pirate Crews articles should be changed up a bit. Since the "Cipher Pol" article, etc., include the members of their organization, I feel that each pirate crew should include the information on their crewmates that would normally be in the "Minor Characters" section. For example, the article on "Buggy's Band of Pirates" would take information on Mohji, Cabaji, and Alvida from the "Minor Characters", and place it in there instead. However, the captain's bios would remain seperate for now. Anyone agree? Sigmasonic X 16:13, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Someone should give this Sigmasonic X a really large cookie. Thats a great idea (and makes better use of the pirate crew pages... Their lack of info has bugged me since the day I created them...). And hopfully will help keep this page.

Well I don't know if you have started or not, but I've set up the basis of it. Franky Family. It needs work, so far all I've done is set up the sections for it and transferred the information. Nah, it would end up overlapping with both Galley-La and Franky Family. I think Kokoro, Chimney, Tom, and Yokozuna are fine under minor characters. By the way, I'm going to be working on an article for the Shandian characters.Sigmasonic X 22:02, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, a few we could do...

• Banchi- Baroque Works. After all, he is their transport, right?
• Baskerville- World Government. I dunno how the WG page is set up... but since he is working for them and all, maybe his section could be moved there.
• Dalton- remove. He already has his own page... This just redirects.
• Gan Fall- remove. Again, already has his own page.
• Ironfist Fullbody- remove. He has a longer section on the marines page, just remove him from here entirely.
• Kohza- Frankly, I'm surprised Kohza doesn't have his own page yet... I feel that he easily could have one...
• Pearl- remove. He's on the Krieg pirates one already.

Past those, though... um... I don't think dead or alive would help too much... Neither would something like pirates or non-pirates... Hm... I'll see if I can think something up. Murasaki Seiko 21:45, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I thought of something that might help... And I'm sure there's enough info and stuff. XD Pages for the major locations, like Arabasta, Skypiea, and Water 7. This'll remove lots of characters, and give more info and stuff. Here's what I've got so far. I'm still working, obviously, but I figured I'd just throw the idea out there. We more or less have pages for most of those things on that page already - cities are in locations, animals in animals, its easier to find info the way they are... But its a really good try though, I'll say that, buts unfortuntly unneeded. But hey, its better then what I came up with (dead and alive lol). Okay I moved Baskerville + Oimo and Kaashii to the WG page and Banchi to the Baroque Works page. Theres one step towards progress. I've been wondering - Grandpa should be on 'romance Dawn page', Jolly of the Crest moon should be there too... In fact they are, so they don't need to be here. Also - Pandaman, Sam-San and Minatomo-San are 'spot me' characters (just like 'Doskoi Panda is a spot me item'). should these be seperate since they aren't characters with a storyplot as such? Shouldn't Conis from Skypia arc have her own page because she played a big role in that arc, also i think that Gan fall should have one too.

Don't know when this was posted.

But the answer is this - Gan Fall DID once have a page to himself. However when you look at the info on him you find there isn't really much to be said about him. The page was scrapped due to this and merged with this page. Conis is the same as well as Dalton. Even if they are a major character, if they have a serious lack of info they can't have a page.

But of me feels our Garp and Dragon pages (esp. Dragon) aren't worth having for this reason and I'd like them merge back, however that is another converstaion for another time.  :/ Angel Emfrbl 21:23, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I put this up on the Main Wikipedia One Piece page, but everyone is ignoring that page recently... So yeah...

Okay a page shouldn't really have more then half a dozen pictures on it. Every picture is uploaded under free usage acts and whatever the copywrite is on them. Basically, do we really need this many pictures at all? I'm gonna reduce it back down to a few important ones worth keeping but can we keep the pics down. This is a encylopedia, not a fansite. If anyone is intereasted enough in the characters they can look them up themselves. 30+ free images is a poor status

Some pages pictures are unavoidable... There is no way the Devil Fruit descriptions can fully describe what the DFs do so in that case, pictures of some nature are needed there. Plus we managed to work them into a decent and apparently acceptable layout. A description can't support a crew page on what its flag is like unless a picture is up. Same with Ships. Major character deserve 1-4 pictures on their pages (but no more). If this page gets pulled up on the pictures we're gonna have one hell of a job trying to save it. We've already experienced one or two losses in past months with great losses to our work here, lets not set off another great loss.

Can we consider all future picture uploads, some of these guys have less then 5 sentances of info on them. Angel Emfrbl 22:35, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay its done... I was hoping it would bring the page size down also, but the reduced no. of pictures leaves it at 75 kilobytes still. It was 77 kilobytes long. Some were temporary removals why I thought about this page, I'm trying to think up something that solve this pages size problem. You can put some of the more major characters back in if you want... But if they overlap onto other sections, its not worth it. You don't see pictures for EVERY character, like for instance, on the Tenchi Muyou page.

Inccidently, splitting them into East Blue and Grand Line is probaberly the best approach for now. I just can't think up any ideas right now. Angel Emfrbl 00:13, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Again I point out the sloppiness of pictures that overlap over onto other characters... Can we NOT just put up pictures for EVERY character! Only the important ones with 2 or 3 paragraphs worth of stuff about them. Makino for instance has about 3 lines at most.

[edit] Splitting up this page

I have seen this idea elsewhere on wikipedia:

• Major Minor Characters
• Secondary Minor characters

Well... Not using those names... I've fogotten the real names. Basically, characters would be split according to importance to role... Nojiko, Genzo, Gan Fell... They would go on one page... Gonbe, Su and others like them would be on another.

To seperate the two, you must consider how many lines they said... Episodes they were in. Roles they played. If they said two lines or appeared in only a few episodes... They would go on the Secondary minor characters page. If they were supporting characters over an entire arc and had much dialogue or played an important role, they are a major minor character.

A good idea, I think, would be to split he page in two, with characters from the first saga, East Blue Saga, in a page, suddivided by arc, with characters in appereance or alphabetical order, and the second with the characters of the Grand Line.

In this way, we are (almost) sure that the fitrst page will remain the same size, at least until decide to show us a little bit of this other characters, but they won't be anymore minor, I guess.

In the second page, also divided by saga, with characters in alphabetical or appearance order, the same reasoning.

I guess in the future we can have a page for the characters in the first half of GL, and a page with minor from the New World.

I've taken that into concideration already... We would end up with too many articles, most likely be forced into a merge or deletation. Granted this is a throughly researched article, but is is really necessary? The very title notes that is about minor characters and a list. I don't really see where minor characters warrant an article devoted to them. Also the pure list format is awkward, especially with no lead-in paragraph or explanation of the game, or anything else. Firstly, its a anime series, not a game. But thats not important really. This article is a supporting article (sub-article?) for all the other articles. There are a lot of pages linking to them. As for the ness., well as far as supporting the other pages, they are important. While we don't need them, its one of those pages that explains bits and pieces from the others, it has uses. Their creeping in and resulting once more in the uness. overload of picture. Once offers and very minors don't need pictures. Amazon, Chouchou and the mayor don't need pictures. They appeared in only a few chapters. Angel Emfrbl 23:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Examples of people who need pictures: Conis (major play in Skypiea arc, appeared in many episodes), Kohza (major player in Alabasta arc, sigifcant role) and Zeff (big time pirate, big part of Sanji's history and major part played in Baratie Arc). Even still, when adding a picture chek the number we have already - right now we have about the needed amount. We have room for a few more of the major ones, but otherwise anything else is uneeded. Ignore the speedy delete ref, this is a minor set back, the page was targetted too soon. I've written up the explaination of intentions on the talk page, which is required I'll say I'm starting to get shocked at Wikipedia now, but thats as far as I'll go on that note. Everyone edit as normal and we'll see how it goes. It should be alright if everyone just continues editing there. Also, can everyone go around and change all the links to that page. Well Ryuuma from Oda's series Wanted! has been brought back in One Piece as a Zombie on Thriller Bark. I think this would be a good time to add him here for now, and we should probably create an Article for Wanted! since it now appears to be related to the One Piece timeline somehow.
