Talk:List of organic gardening and farming topics
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why isn't all this stuff just put onto the Category:Organic_gardening page (by putting in the appropriate tags on the pages listed here)? SB Johnny 13:12, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think that if it was just a straight list, I would agree with you, but it is organized in a useful way that wouldn't be possible in a category page. Also, there many articles in this list, such as rabbit, that don't really belong in the organic gardening category. ike9898 13:31, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

- In answer to Johnny's question, most of this page was originally put together by myself in the days before Wikipedia categories had been developed- I had the idea of this page acting as a kind of 'contents page' to an organic gardening encyclopedia within wikipedia- as Ike points out the information is listed in a more organised manner than a Category page, which simply puts the articles in alphabetical order, so it has an advantage being a 'list'. It would be good if the Gardening and Horticulture project could develop this section of the wikipedia in the future quercus robur 16:09, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe the best thing to do would be to put category tags on some of those pages. (Thanks for mentioning the project, Q.r., it's: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Horticulture_and_Gardening. Please lend a hand!) SB Johnny 14:55, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
