Live It Up, Pt. 1 & 2
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Live It Up, Pt. 1 & 2" is a funk/rock song released by The Isley Brothers, released off their T-Neck imprint in 1974. The song, which attacked conformity and advocated control, was much like some of the group's records of the time of the "do what you wanna do" records they were known for including earlier hits, "It's Your Thing", "Freedom" and "Keep On Doin'". Its free love message helped it become an R&B smash upon its release peaking at number four on the R&B singles chart and reaching number fifty-two pop. The song features a screaming guitar solo from brother Ernie Isley while Chris Jasper closes the song out with a clavinet solo making part one the vocal version featuring lead singer Ronald Isley and his accompanying backup singing brothers Rudolph Isley and O'Kelly Isley, Jr. and part two the instrumental version.
