Live A Little, Love A Little is a 1968 musical film and comedy starring Elvis Presley. Teaming up yet again with veteran director Norman Taurog (for what would turn out to be Taurog's final film), but this one was different. This film finds Elvis in a more mature role in a more mature movie - there are curse words, for one thing; drugs are alluded to, nudity is implied, and he actually goes to bed with a woman (not shown). It's not exactly what anyone would likely call a good movie, but "Live A Little, Love A Little" is one of the better Elvis films. And he even seems more relaxed and engaged than on any film since Follow That Dream. The movie was not a flop but not a success either; it made money, but went almost completely unnoticed.
For many years it was rumoured that the Great Dane featured in the film was in fact Presley's dog; however, this was not the case.
There was not a soundtrack album or EP released for this film. 'A Little Less Conversation' was issued as a single, but it was not a success. (As an interesting aside, while the 45 was the least successful single Elvis ever released, a remix in 2002 became his first #1 in many years.) The original recording as well as the other tracks from the film were released over the next several years on budget lp's.
This film was not released in the UK for unknown reasons, and similarly has yet to be released on DVD.

Greg Nolan is a newspaper photographer who lives a fun and carefree life. That is, until he meets a headcase named Bernice, who assumes different names and personalities whenever the mood hits her. She manages to lose his job and apartment after drugging him. However, she manages to find him another apartment, and he wants to pay her back. So he gets two photographer jobs: one at a Playboy-like magazine and the other at a very conservative magazine. He now has to manage balancing the two jobs along with dealing with Bernice and her odd ways.

The soundtrack songs were recorded in March of 1968 at Western Recorders Inc. in Los Angeles, California. There would be no title track, and the songs are pleasant but hardly inspiring. 'Edge Of Reality' has been given some belated notice for being Presley's only foray into psychedelia, although it is indeed a very mild venture; and as noted previously, 'A Little Less Conversation' became a huge worldwide hit when remixed many years later.
