Long Valley is an unincorporated community located in Jackson County, South Dakota. Although not tracked by the Census Bureau, Long Valley has been assigned the ZIP code of 57547.
Long Valley, South Dakota (also spelled "Longvalley") is a rural community of Jackson County 29 miles south of the county seat of Kadoka along Highway 73. The identified population is eight people in three households. The Longvalley community consists of much of zip code 57547; this designation is due to the majority of the regional population residing outside of city limits.

The Longvalley community consists of Longvalley Elementary School, Longvalley Luthern Church, a community center (a.k.a. the Fire Hall), Longvalley Post Office/General Store, a small scrapyard, and a volunteer fire department.
