Lonnie Lynn

Lonnie Lynn (born May 24, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois) is a former basketball player in the ABA. He played one season for the Pittsburgh Pipers (1969-70 season). He attended DuSable High School on Chicago's south side before moving on to Wilberforce University and Upper Iowa University.
Lynn is the father of Grammy Award nominated hip hop artist Common.
Once known to Chicagoans for his play at DuSable High School, Lonnie Lynn has gathered a following in the rap world. Father of hip hop artist Common, Mr. Lynn performed on his several of his son's albums.
On his CD's Lynn shares opinions, experience and knowledge to a younger hip hop audience. Although he was reared in Chicago he was greatly affected by visits to the south during his youth and the brutal murder of Emmett Till a fellow Chicagoan.
Lonnie Lynn is believed to have fathered 7 children. The most talented and famous of them is hip hop artist Common who has no comment to the knowledge of any siblings.
