Looping Starship
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Looping Starship (also can be called Space Shuttle) is a flat ride by Intamin AG of Switzerland. The concept of the ride is basically a swinging ship that can spin a complete 360-degree revolution. The ride can be very scary at times, especially if the park enables the feature to temporarily suspend the ride upside down.
The Looping Starship ride has been modified so instead of resembling a Space Shuttle it instead resembles a fighter jet.
[edit] Locations
At Six Flags Great America, there was an Intamin Space Shuttle called Power Dive. It was removed in 2001 due to maintenance issues. The Looping Starship at Six Flags Over Georgia was also taken out of the park, but it was for a different reason. The park wanted to remove the ride in order to add a new Mega Coaster called Goliath.
