[edit] Is Lord Farquaad a sadist?

I've been discussing with a few people and they think that Lord Farquaad is a sadist. He acts very sadisticlly towards the Gingerbread Man at the start of the film and he laughs at Shrek when he discovers that Shrek is in love with Fiona. So is Lord Farquaad a sadist?
