LostAlone are 3-piece rock band based in Derbyshire (Midlands,UK). They are part of a new wave of british rock acts which are attracting much interest and support in both the UK and foreign press.
The bands style combines fast, heavy riffs with slower, melodic sections and strong vocal harmonies to create a sound that is not easily pigeon-holed but sits within the rock/emo scene. Currently signed to their own Scorpia Label, they formed in 2005.
The band consists of the following members:
Steven Battelle (Vocals/Guitar)
Mark Gibson (Drums/Vocals)
Tom Kitchen (Bass/Vocals)
Main influences of the band have been cited as Queen, Iron Maiden, Mansun, Pink Floyd, Weezer. Whilst none of these are particularly prevalent in the bands overall sound, there are subtle nods to these bands both musically, lyrically and dynamically in the bands music. Steven Battelle is often quoted in interviews as a huge Freddie Mercury fan and lover of Queen.
Frontman Steven Battelle in particular, embodies the energy and direction of the band. A versatile vocalist and guitarist he has developed a unique stage style and aesthetic which has grown to include alternative slide guitar techniques, push-ups on stage mid-song and the inimitable, crowd-pleasing 'flip-catch-guitar-solo-with-shoe' move.

[edit] History
Steven Battelle and Mark Gibson have been writing partners for the past 15 years, having played together in various bands from the age of 13. The first notable band being Im.Mortal which featured on an early '90's episode of children/teen programme Why Don't You.
Following this the 5-piece outfit 'Stumble' was formed and gigged throughout the Midlands fairly extensively in the mid-late '90's. The band also released several singles on Reveal Records such as Automatically. They also released singles through the online Peoplesound music community, such as Wait Don't Fire and How Many Times Do I Have To Kill You Before You Die. The line-up experienced various changes but the most consistent members were:
Ollie Theaker (Vocals)
Steven Battelle (Guitar/Vocals)
Mark Gibson (Drums)
Sam Ford (Guitar)
Simon Rayner (Bass)
Following a shake-up of band members Steven and Mark started a new 4-piece band in 2000, after recruiting new bass player Matt Swan ,and lead guitarist Simon Jablonski - called 'Intentions Of An Asteroid'. (The name of a previous Stumble song). This band toured more extensively around the UK and released the singles Follow The Moon, The Clear Water Paranoia EP and The Gospel. The band also released an album & two 7" singles in Japan on the Vinyl Junkie label[1]
However, Steven and Mark re-shuffled the band again to form the current line-up, bringing new bass player Tom Kitchen into the fold. At this point, now 2005, the band became LostAlone and created their own label Scorpia to represent the band and handle the production and distribution of their subsequent single and album releases.
[edit] Tours
Over the past two years, LostAlone have toured extensively across the UK and Germany. This has been both in support of other bands (Taste of Chaos tour 2006, Skin, The Kooks, Wolfmother) and on their own headline tours (Light The Waves Tour 2006 and Say No To The World Tour 2007).
LostAlone completed a tour of Germany in December of 2006, and a full 29 date tour of the UK was undertaken in March 2007, to support the release of their debut album 'Say No To The World'.
They supported My Chemical Romance on 1st April 2007 in Dublin. [1]

They have been asked again to support My Chemical Romance in Germany on 3rd, 6th and 7th April. [2]
[edit] Airplay, TV & Press Exposure
Following and in support of the release of the singles 'Blood Is Sharp', 'Unleash The Sands Of All Time' and 'Elysium' the band have received significant local and national press interest. Most notable being support from Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) on his BBC Radio 6music rock show. Following an interview on the show, Bruce listed the band in his top 5 singles of 2006[2] and has regularly played the various singles on his show. Zane Lowe has also regularly included the band on his evening radio show on Radio 1.
In March 2007 the band were featured in Kerrang! magazine in their 'Introducing...' feature.
Also in early 2007, interviews were also featured in Rocksound magazine, Total Guitar and The Fly.
The music videos for the singles 'Blood Is Sharp' and 'Unleash The Sands Of All Time' have been in rotation on MTV2 and Scuzz. In fact, the band won a viewer poll to appear on Scuzz by the largest vote margin to date in December 2006.
