[edit] Route description
From the north, LA 45 begins at an intersection with 4th Street (Louisiana Highway 18) in Marrero and spans due south. It intersects with the West Bank Expressway as it continues southward as a six lane, divided road. LA 45 converts to a four lane, divided highway at the Lapalco Boulevard intersection. LA 45 also passes through Estelle, where it intersects with the Lafitte-Larose Parkway (Louisiana Highway 3134). LA 45 then narrows to a two lane undivided road, passes underneath the Lafitte-Larose bridge and then reconnects with it before entering Jean Lafitte. LA 45 becomes Jean Lafitte Boulevard and dead ends in Lafitte.
