Louisiana United States Senate election, 2008

The US Senate election will be held on November 4, 2008. This is the first time that Louisiana will use primaries for federal races. The seat is held by U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, a Democrat , who was elected in 1996 and reelected in 2002. The Democratic and Republican primaries will be held on September 18, 2008.
