"Love Letters" is a popular song.
The music was written by Victor Young, the lyrics by Edward Heyman. The song was published in 1945.
The song appeared, without lyrics, in the movie of the same name, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song for 1945.
The song has been performed many times, but the best-known versions were made by Dick Haymes (in 1945), by Ketty Lester (in 1962), by Elvis Presley (in 1966) and by Alison Moyet (1987). Also, Cilla Black recorded a version for her 1965 album Cilla.
A version by The Lettermen appeared on their 1966 album A New Song for Young Love. It was also released as the b-side of their single "I Only Have Eyes for You."
David Lynch used Ketty Lester's version in the soundtrack of his 1986 film, Blue Velvet.
The song was also recorded by Etta James on her 2001 album Blue Gardenia.
