On November 10 2006 Austereo announced Lowie has announced he is leaving the Hot30 to concentrate on other media opportunities. Craig has been hosting the Hot30 for almost two years and now plans to shift his focus to his role at Fox 8 and developing his stand up comedy show. Sam Mac will fill in as Hot30 host from tonight until a permanent replacement is announced. It is rumoured that Lowie was forced out of the radio network after pressure from The Veronicas record label when it became clear he was behind the morning radio stunt after the 2006 ARIA Awards where he was "caught" in bed with Lisa Origliasso [1].
Lowie was heard from 7-10pm weeknights on B105, 2Day, FOX FM, 92.9, SAFM, FM 104.7 & NXFM hosting "Hot30 Countdown with Lowie". He obtained this position after a short time with Today Network's B105 doing the late night shift (10pm-12am) weeknights, it was here he showed his talent and proved his worth to the Austereo network.
However earlier days in the industry did not see him so warmly accepted, as he was tossed around Macquarie Regional Radioworks, spending his time with this network predominantly at its Gold Coast headquarters - 90.9 SeaFM.
His further areas of radio experience see him branch into Production, Producing and Imaging, seen as a small part of building his success with the once failing Hot30 Countdown. He and Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas have an on/off relationship.
[edit] Television
Lowie started as the key host for Austereo's WebTV network - CrankTV, before co-hosting a new program CD:Live on Pay-TV channel FOX8.
