Luigino
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luigino is a currency issued from 1994 to 1996 in Seborga, an Italian city which claims to be an independent principality. Its legal status is controversial.
The self proclaimed Prince Giorgio I issued new coins made of different metals, such as silver. They are accepted in Seborga by all local shops. The legal currency is nevertheless the euro.
The luigino's value is pegged at US$6.00, which would make it the world's highest valued currency unit were it considered to be an official currency.
