Luis Palau (born November 27, 1934) is a Christian evangelist native of Ingeniero Maschwitz, Buenos Aires, Argentina, presently residing in Portland, Oregon, United States. He says that he was born again and that he had devoted his life to Christ at the age of 12, and he began preaching at 18. He has preached the Evangelical gospel to millions of people through large festivals worldwide.
In 1976, on the 25th anniversary of Overseas Crusades, founder Dick Hillis stepped down as president and Dr. Luis Palau was named president.
Palau visited China in November 2005, wrapping up a week-long visit by attending a Beijing church service along with U.S. President George W. Bush. His son, Kevin, has partnered up with Stephen Baldwin to produce Christian extreme sports videos. [1] He launched a book venture after holding a conversation with a former government Chinese official; the transcribed work will be entitled Riverside Chats: A Friendly Dialogue Between An Atheist and a Christian.
