LV-1201

LV-1201 is a fictional planet in the Alien vs. Predator video game series.
In Aliens versus Predator 2, LV-1201 was the site of a Terran research facility designed specifically to study and experiment on the Xenomorph biological weapons race. It was in operation in 2230 when a Xenomorph contingent arose and a new Hive was created, with a rarity seen in any Hive; an Empress controlling the Hive instead of a Queen. The Aliens overran the Primary Operations Complex part of the base and killed/captured a number of civilians from the POC and took them to the tunnels to be impregnated with a Chestburster. The survivors escaped to the Forward Observation Pods(FOP), and set up barricades and defenses against the Aliens. A Colonial Marine squad aboard the USS Verloc, a Conestoga-class carrier accidentally deactivated the defense grid of the Pods and a number of people and security guards were killed when the Xenomorphs overran the guards. The Marines later arrived at the Pods and were then led into a trap. They were led to believe that there were some survivors in the tunnels below the POC, but were led right into a nest of Xenomorph Eggs. The Marines were able to escape before the base's fusion reactor was overloaded and the base was obliterated.
In Aliens versus Predator 2: Primal Hunt, it is revealed that LV-1201 was actually a Predator hunting ground. A failed Hunt in 1730 led to the discovery of an Alien Hive below the planets surface. A team of Predators tried to kill all the Aliens, but all but 1 was killed. He somehow activated "The Artifact" which emitted a stasis field keeping him and a Facehugger in suspended animation for 200 years. He was awakened in 2230, when Corporate mercenary Dunya took the Artifact and escaped with it. The "Ancient Predator" was able to get by Pod defenses, and send a transmission to a Predator vessel in the area. He was killed though, when a Chestburster busted out of his chest.
