"Lyoko Minus One" is the fifty-fourth episode of Code Lyoko. It aired in France on September 16, 2006. It premiered in the United States on October 5, 2006.

During a field trip with the rest of her ninth grade class, Yumi finds herself facing off against the students, teachers, and bus driver, all of whom Xana has possessed. At the same time, Xana plans to get rid of Lyoko through an alternate means: destroying each sector one at a time. In a backstory, Odd and Hervé compete in a class election for president.

An election for class representative is being held at Kadic Junior High School. Hervé, Jeremie, and Odd are running for the position. Hervé is running on Sissi's behalf, since she is forbidden to run on account of being the Headmaster's daughter. Odd has waited until the last second to announce his candidacy, wanting it to be a surprise.
Meanwhile, Yumi is on a field trip to the forest to observe the effects of pollution on nature. As they drive, Jim notes that anyone making trouble will be given detention, as William was. Mrs. Hertz goes over what they'll be doing after he finishes. Jim addresses her informally during the exchange, even noting that her perfume smells nice at one point.
Back in class, Odd makes a speech about how the class should be represented by someone like the other students, not one of the two smartest people in the school. His speech is a rousing success, and even Hervé claps for Odd. While everyone claps, a Tower activates on Lyoko.
On the bus, the controls suddenly short out and the bus driver slams on the brakes. As he examines the damage, one of Xana's ghosts bursts from the controls, possessing him and everyone else in the bus aside from Yumi. Having been looking out the window at the time, Yumi is surprised to find herself facing down an entire bus full of Xana-possessed people. Jim is the first to attack, sending a burst of electricity through the back window. Using the opportunity, Yumi dives through the window before his second shot can hit her.
In class, Hervé is now giving his speech, only managing to get a response from Sissi. While he talks, Jeremie tries to convince Odd that being class representative is serious work. Odd thinks that Jeremie believes he can't handle it. Jeremie's cell phone interrupts them. Yumi is calling to inform them of the group of Xana-possessed people chasing her. Master Fumet tells Jeremie to give his speech, forcing Jeremie to hang up. On further insistence, Jeremie makes an excuse about leaving his notes in his room and runs out. Aelita, Odd, and Ulrich make similar excuses and leave just as quickly. Hervé takes the opportunity to ask for votes again, and Fumet just covers his face with his hand in annoyance.
Still in detention, William is drawing random pictures. Outside the window, he hears Ulrich's voice. Ulrich is calling Yumi, and ends up revealing that she's in danger. Jeremie has Ulrich help Yumi while Odd and Aelita go to Lyoko. Being careful not to wake his sleeping detention teacher, William sneaks out to follow Ulrich.
In the forest, Yumi is still having trouble avoiding her pursuers. After tripping over a root, Yumi uses the opportunity to hide. Jim, acting as the leader, has the others go on ahead. Yumi thinks that she's avoided them, only to find Jim standing in front of her. Despite his distance, Yumi still manages to avoid his electric attacks and escape.
On Lyoko, Aelita and Odd appear in the Forest Sector within visual distance of the Tower. As they head to it on Odd's Overboard, four Tarantulas arrive to greet them. Jeremie tells Odd to be careful, not wanting to lose his competition. Odd claims that he'll beat the Tarantulas first, then do the same with Jeremie. Odd destroys one on the first pass, but is knocked off balance on the second. Aelita is forced to jump from the Overboard to keep Odd from crashing into a tree. This leaves her facing down three Tarantulas. Aelita uses her energy orbs to clear an escape path. Odd follows on his Overboard and jumps to drag her out of the line of fire. They still have three Tarantulas chasing them, however, and are forced to flee.
In the forest, Xana's possessed minions finally manage to catch Yumi. Ulrich is also in the forest, and is having little luck getting a hold of Yumi on her cell. As he looks around, he notices William following him. Hiding behind a tree, he gets William to expose himself. William quickly explains that he overheard Ulrich and came to help. Ulrich tries to deny it, but Yumi's cry of pain quickly reveals his lie.
On Lyoko, Aelita and Odd are nearing the Tower, with the Tarantulas close behind. Hiding behind a tree, Odd opts to distract the monsters while Aelita heads for the Tower. Leaving the safety of the tree, Odd runs up to and bounces off of the heads of the monsters, not losing speed as he flees in the opposite direction. Climbing another tree, Odd uses the altitude to take out another Tarantula. Aelita prepares to run, but Jeremie tells her to wait for the Tarantulas to get further away.
In the forest, Jim is torturing Yumi with intermittent blasts of electricity. William is both confused and wants to help, but Ulrich holds him back, since he knows just how dangerous those possessed by Xana are.
Back on Lyoko, Odd manages to destroy yet another Tarantula, then leads the last one on another chase. It actually tries to smash him with one of its legs, but misses. The chase gives Aelita the opportunity she needs, and she heads for the tower. Jeremie calls Ulrich as she runs, explaining that the Tower will be shut down soon. Ulrich is glad, since he and William are about to fight the possessed students surrounding Yumi. Jeremie asks why he's working with William, but Ulrich doesn't bother to explain it. While they talk, Aelita contacts Jeremie to inform him that she's face to face with the Scyphozoa. While it shouldn't have any need to steal her memories, it's there regardless, and the time frame for the Tower being shut down just went up significantly. Aelita tries to attack it, but it just dodges her shots, forcing her to run.
In the forest, Ulrich starts his plan to get Yumi away from the possessed people. Acting as bait, he draws them away while William rescues Yumi. On Lyoko, Aelita finds herself cornered by the Scyphozoa. She tries to attack it once more, but the Scyphozoa merely smacks her hand aside to prevent the attack. Grabbing her, it begins its trademark process. This time, however, it seems to be uploading something rather than downloading. Odd, having been cornered by the Tarantula chasing him, can't get there quickly. Though he manages to get past the Tarantula, the Scyphozoa completes its task by the time he reaches Aelita. Checking on her, Odd discovers that Aelita has been possessed by Xana. After smacking Odd a fair distance backwards, Aelita uses an energy orb to chase him away. Aelita then climbs onto the remaining Tarantula's nose and it walks off in the opposite direction of the activated Tower.
In the forest, Ulrich is now cornered by the possessed people. Yumi calls Jeremie, who tells her that the Tower won't be shut off any time soon. Clutching a large wooden stick, William prepares to fight the possessed people. Yumi provides a distraction, allowing William to knock out four of them with a spinning kick supported by the stick. When Jim sends the remaining possessed people to assist, Yumi dives from the tree above him, kicking him in the head. Unlike the students William kicked, Jim is unfazed. A follow-up punch is equally ineffective, as Yumi simply passes through him. William is having an equal amount of trouble with Mrs. Hertz, even though he took out the remaining students. When he tries to hit her, she catches his weapon in one hand. Being made of wood, the weapon doesn't conduct her electricity, so she just tosses him aside.
On Lyoko, the Tarantula delivers Aelita to the passage tower. Odd tries to fight off the Tarantula, but is unsuccessful. Entering the Tower, Aelita travels to the top and presses her hand to the screen. The process goes normally, until the code "Lyoko" is supposed to be entered. In its place the code "Xana" appears in red letters. As the code is entered, the Tarantula suddenly falls apart. The entire sector begins to follow it, starting with the tower Aelita was in. She falls from it as it disappears. Having been freed from Xana's possession, she has little time to recuperate before being forced to run from the rapidly disappearing ground behind them. As they run, Xana's activated tower disappears, saving Ulrich and Yumi from Jim and Mrs. Hertz. Yumi gets the news about the disappearing sector from Jeremie shortly after this happens. Jeremie also manages to devirtualize Aelita and Odd before they fall into the void.
In the park, the now-unpossessed people aren't sure what's going on. Yumi makes it seem as if they're still on the field trip by pointing out some moss and blaming it on pollution. Meanwhile, Ulrich drags an unconscious William back to detention to convince him the incident was just a dream.
At the Factory, Jeremie explains that the Forest has been wiped out. Since the four sectors are the only way to get to Carthage, Xana plans to delete them one by one to keep the group away from Carthage. Therefore, Jeremie needs to find a way to get to Carthage directly. Odd reminds Jeremie about the election for class representative, but Jeremie isn't concerned. The group is just going to vote for Odd so he wins. Sure enough, Odd does win, and finds himself bombarded by requests.

- When cornered by the possessed people, Ulrich states that it's fifteen against one despite the fact that there are only ten of them.
- When chasing Odd, Xana-Aelita uses an energy orbs, they can be seen burning the terrain.
- When the forest sector disappears, the activated tower had started disappearing, but later, when it's seen again, the tower's bottom and the land behind it has reappeared and started disappearing again.
- In this episode, monsters present when a sector is deleted are also deleted, but in later shows, monsters present in the sector fall into the void.
