[edit] Summary
Painting of St. Josemaria, the founder of Opus Dei, surrounded by people who are doing different kinds of work: a family working on a computer, a girl sweeping the ground, a doctor on a medical mission, girls studying, a mother taking care of her child, a fisherman casting a net for a catch (a profession of many Filipinos because the Philippines is an archipelago but also a symbol of Christian apostolate). The painting was done by a Filipino painter, Godofredo Zapanta, Jr, who was commissioned by me (Cabanes). I appear as one of the characters in the painting. I own the copyright to this painting and to the photograph of the painting. I am releasing this image under the GNU Free Documentation License so that it can be used for the Wikipedia article on Opus Dei.
This painting was commissioned on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of St. Josemaria in 2002. He was born on January 2, 1902. The image was used for one of the stamps of the Philippines that appeared in the year 2002.
The title of the painting in Filipino is Magpakabanal sa Gawain, which means "Sanctify yourself through the things you do", or "Be a saint through your work".
