Mélanie (meaning Melanie) is Céline Dion's sixth French album released in Quebec, Canada on August 6, 1984 which proved to be a commercial success.

The title track was dedicated to Céline Dion's little niece Karine diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. The album was another commercial success reaching gold status in Canada for over 50,000 copies sold. The same happened with the song "Une Colombe" which Dion sang for the Pope John Paul II and 65,000 of people at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal (1984). Dion won at that time five Felix Awards. The album produced two top five Quebec singles in "Une Colombe" and "Mon Rêve de Toujours" which peaked at #2 and #4 respectively. There was also a third single released - "Un Amour Pour Moi."
In October 1984 Dion released in France her second album called Les Oiseaux du Bonheur which contained five songs from Mélanie (3, 4, 5, 8 and 9).
