M Continuum

In the Star Trek universe, the M Continuum are a race of beings similar to the Q in many aspects. They are introduced in the Star Trek novel I,Q. The M appear to be all powerful like the Q and exist because of the cosmic balance. The M are the enemies of the Q, and claim they are superior. However, the Q claim they are superior. In I,Q the M claim they are superior because they existed before the Q and the Q are copies of them. A fight erupts between the M and the Q. Neither side gains the upper hand and many astronomic anomalies are created: black holes, wormholes, etc.
The M Continuum is a mirror image of the Q Continuum. The M and the Q are equal in terms of power, however it appears the Q are more mature and are not as prone to misjudgement as the M. The M seem to let anger control their judgement, even if their judgement is irrational. The M are as arrogant as the Q.
