Madagascar (software)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Madagascar is an open-source software package that attempts to provide a portable and complete geophysical research environment. It currently offers:
- Programs for manipulating and processing geophysical data (mostly regularly-sampled seismic reflection)
- Programs for displaying the said data, with export capabilities to commonly used formats
- A superset of SCons, for building workflows that combine data, parameters and programs to create processed files and figures. Only those parts of the workflow that depend on files that are not up to date are executed.
- A developer environment (libraries/modules, headers) with mechanisms to create self-documentation for programs written by users
- A regression testing framework for performing reproducible numerical experiments
