Talk:Madredeus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'd really appreciate if someone could fix grammar bits (they had been searching.. or they have been searching; they released or they had released). Also, "Madredeus" is not pronounced as its written.. I know for certain that the last bit is pronounced as "sh", but am not sure about the rest of it, and I don't know how to write about this in an article :\ - Jashiin
- Errm, it's a Portuguese name, hence, it's pronounced exactly the way it's written...Zeppocity 14:24, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

- Well, yes, but then I'm sure there are loads of articles on foreign personalities and somesuch where people don't really bother to spell it out, non? I think it really comes down to that; readers know it's Portuguese, Portuguese isn't read in the same way as English... does Wiki really always make sure that they get to know HOW it's read? Just doesn't really seem that significant to me. Zeppocity 16:09, 10 September 2005 (UTC)

The origin of the name is slightly innacurate. Previous reading had it that they practiced in an abbey named Madre Deus, the truth is a little (but significantly) more complex.
