Maestro (game)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maestro (mīs'trō) is a game most often played by adolescent boys, involving the unwanted or unexpected touching of another's anal region. Its origins lie in the more common "goosing" of North America and Kancho of Japan. A maestro is most often accomplished when one person is able to surprise another with the delivery of a rigid open hand to the other's anus using a forceful, upward motion. The response to this is unpleasant and sometimes painful, causing embarrassment while the perpetrator exclaims, "Maestro!"
Despite the game's obvious homosexual nature, it is played predominantly by heterosexual males in group settings: the creation of an audience reduces the awkward feelings associated with homosexual experimentation by masking what could be construed as a sexual advance under the guise of a childish game. Furthermore, it very rarely crosses gender lines.
While the game can constitute sexual assault, there are no known cases of charges in relation to the playing of it. Likely this is the result of an unstated mutual desire to explore burgeoning sexualities, as the premise of the game is a "gotcha!" (e.g. Tag (game)), effectively soliciting the other to receprocate the action.
