Magnet wire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Magnet wire is a copper or aluminum wire covered with thin insulation. It is used in the construction of transformers, inductors, motors, and electromagnets, among other applications.
The wire itself is most often copper, but aluminum wire is not uncommon. The insulation material ranges from cotton, paper, or silk (useful for low-temperature applications) to polyesteride enamels (suitable for high-temperature applications). In the audio sector, a wire of silver construction, and various other insulators, such as cotton (sometimes permetated with some kind of coagulating agent/thickener, such as beeswax) and teflon can be found.
magnet wire is for making magnets and other such devices it is not however magnetic itself
