Maheash Johnney.
Born in 1983, Maheash Johnney is currently a News Reporter/Anchor at Newsfirst.. which is the news arm of Channel One MTV, Sri Lanka. Born in Sydney Australia on the 2nd of December 1983, he first went to school at St. Thomas's College in Mount Lavina soon after his parents migrated back to Sri Lanka. During his academic year Maheash exhaled in Swimming, Athletics, Drama, Oratory and Graphics. In 1996 he moved to St. Thomas's College, Bandarawela because of the situation in Colombo. At St. Thomas's College he was in the first group to introduce computer training. In 1999 he co ordinted a Studen Christian Movement camp in the college, which saw the participation of over 20 schools making it the first camp where students from Jaffna also participated. Later he went onto organize the English Day after a lapse of over 15 years making it the first such event for the students during that period. In 2001 He was appointed as Deputy Head Prefect of the College. Soon after college edcuation he joined the British Council where he served as a Communication's assistant and left for SUN FM as a Newscaster. In 2004 He joined MTV Channel Pvt Ltd where he serves in the News department as a reporter. Maheash lives in Moratuwa. He is the only child in his family. He lost his father when he was 15 years old just a month before his O/L examination.
